Jamie + Ben | Utah Wedding Photographer

June 27, 2022 by tayneemillerphotography@gmail.com Leave a Comment

Weddings can be such an amazing adventure. Jamie and Ben’s wedding was truly magical. My favorite part about working with Jamie and Ben what is that they were unapologetically themselves and so unique the entire time we did photos. I felt like because they were so genuine we developed a good friendship and had some great times together through the laughter of engagements to the raw emotions of their wedding day.

I love how the wedding day wasn’t as traditional. During the ceremony they gave each of their children a token of their love and had it engraved for each child. It was beautiful to see these separate families come together and become one.

One of the most memorable moments of their wedding day for me was listening to their full wedding story. This was both Ben and Jamie’s Second marriage so they didn’t do all of the traditional Things on their wedding day. They had a beautiful ceremony followed by a receiving line and then instead of the reception they had an amazing dinner. At the dinner that night with their close family and friends they told the full Story of how they met. I had heard a portion of their store before but at this dinner I learned they had met in high school through Ben’s sister. They both had an eye for each other, but neither of them made a move. They reconnected years later multiple times and it was just never the right time for them to be together. But finally years later they made it back to each other and are happily married. Seeing how much they love each other I knew that their journey and everything they went to through together was what they needed to be ready for each other.

Moncur Vow Renewal | Utah Photographer

February 25, 2022 by tayneemillerphotography@gmail.com Leave a Comment

The Moncurs, married 10 years ago, wanted to renew their vows with the family they had built together. Next to a bridge with a beautiful view of Oquirrh Lake at Day Break, I was so excited to be a part of such an important part of their life. It was absolutely stunning.

For the service, they only had their kids in attendance, one of whom acted as their officiant. As a spectator to the event, to see their son officiate was such a sweet touch to the whole experience. I loved seeing this because I found the children felt invested in the experience, and what better than to have your children a part of your commitment to your spouse and family. The kids made promises to their parents and to the family also as a part of the ceremony.

There are so many ways you can renew your vows and this was just an example of how they made it unique to them. They had a rose jar where they put their vows after they made their promises, which provides another symbolic and lasting representation they can remember forever.

It truly was such an intimate experience, and I was honored to capture them as they committed themselves once again to one another. They gave gifts to the kids at the ceremony, said a few things to one another, and made their promises. I am so honored that this is my job and grateful for the beautiful memories.

Laura + Josh Bridals | Utah Photographer Taynee Miller

December 10, 2021 by tayneemillerphotography@gmail.com Leave a Comment

Laura and Josh got married in March of 2020 in the heart of covid in a small backyard ceremony. When things started to let up a little bit, they reached out about doing bridals of her in her wedding dress.

We decided to shoot at two different locations, first was at the Legion of Honor Museum and the second was the Palace of Fine Arts. We had such a beautiful session with wonderful lighting at the first location. Once we moved toward the center of the location the wind picked up and it felt like we were in a tornado. It made for some really beautiful images but for sure not the best for hair and makeup.

We ended at the Palace of Fine Arts, which is a stunning museum and got some beautiful classic images. I love having such a timeless location so that the images will last a lifetime!

Details are so important at a bridal session, and really any session, so that you can remember all the details. Some of the details I focus on are the ring shots, hair, dress, vail, and then individuals of the bride and groom.

I was so happy we were able to capture some beautiful bridals for them before their big wedding reception, which they had later this year!

I love doing bridal sessions and suggest doing them prior to your wedding day or shortly after so that you can have them to share at the same time as your wedding.

Matthew and Michelle Surprise Proposal | Taynee Miller

November 23, 2021 by tayneemillerphotography@gmail.com Leave a Comment

She was ecstatic and so happy to be engaged to the love of her life! This was such a fun session to do and be apart of and remind me why I love my job so much. The Bonneville Salt Flats truly are magnificent and although I don’t get out there often I was so glad I was able to capture such a special moment for them!

Matthew and Michelle live in North Carolina in Charlotte and were planning on coming to Utah for a vacation over Labor day. They had planned to go out to the Bonneville Salt Flats to see how beautiful it was, so Matthew planned to surprise Michelle with a proposal! I was so excited to be able to capture this time in their lives at sunset!

Matthew and I came up with a plan to meet at sunset and wanted to make sure Michelle had no idea, so we had to do some preplanning to be sure the surprise wasn’t ruined! I contacted some clients to do some engagement photos and be a decoy couple for me. I was able to do a session beforehand and not be obvious that I was there for the proposal. It made it such a fun and special session!

When I saw him get down on one knee, I sprinted over and Michelle had no idea what was going on, and was the most shocked bride I have seen! I loved that element of surprise and even more so that she had no idea I was capturing the moment! She looked at me and asked why I left my couple and I said, “This is all for you!!!” It made the whole situation truly so much fun.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Anna + Spencer Engagements | Utah Photographer Taynee Miller

November 11, 2021 by tayneemillerphotography@gmail.com Leave a Comment

Anna and Spencer are high school sweethearts and both served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and reconnected after and knew quickly it was meant to be!

While we were doing their engagements I asked them something special about their story and they told me the cutest story. Spencer’s family is Disney obsessed! They love it so much and they go a few times a year. When he was a little boy he had a dream about wanting to propose to his wife in front of the Disney Castle. He had no idea, but Anna had the same dream as a little girl, and he was set on making dreams come true for both of them. Spencer flew out while Anna was on a trip with her family at Disneyland and surprised her by proposing in front of the Castle! I love that they both had this dream since they were little kids, and then seeing Spencer do so much to make this come true for both of them.

For their engagements session, they wanted fall colors in the mountains to capture the season of their engagement! They got engaged in early fall and will be married in January, so we will be doing a winter bridal sessions for them to finish it all up. I love working with this darling couple and hope you enjoy seeing their beautiful connection.
